The French brand Bourjois, founded in 1863 by the visionary Joseph Albert Ponsin, specializes mainly in colour cosmetics. The brand's first product was a selection of wax makeup sticks, designed exclusively for theatre actors and bearing witty names such as "Jealous" or "Lovesick". Bourjois cosmetics – from 1863 to the present day

The origins of Bourjois are linked to... a 19th century Parisian theatre. It was founded by a talented French cosmetologist – Joseph Albert Ponsin – who, for the purposes of stage makeup, created durable colour cosmetics in the form of a stick in many different shades.
